Cattleya tigrina 'SanBar Giant' FCC/AOS x Cattleya tenebrosa 'Taylor Bronze' AM/AOS

This deep velvety red Cattleya is none other than Cattleya Cruella, a primary hybrid between Cattleya tigrina and Cattleya tenebrosa. When we first made this hybrid years ago, we saw many bronze and red hues, but nothing as dark as these! A few of these seedlings have flowered for us now and they have all been wonderfully dark with the lip being heavily influenced by Cattleya tenebrosa in both shape and color. When these grow up, they should have half a dozen large fragrant flowers per inflorescence. While these have stronger influence from Cattleya tenebrosa, our other batch of seedlings (1735) has a stronger influence from Cattleya tigrina. Plants are flowering size in 6" pots.
