This primary hybrid between Cattleya aclandiae and Cattleya granulosa was first registered in 1900 as Cattleya Memoria Bleui and we're very excited to see what will come from this new remake! Cattleya granulosa 'Frank Smith' FCC/AOS currently holds the highest quality award of any Cattleya species in the world and is notable for its clean green backgound color, large flower size (5+ inches), and high flower count for the species with fourteen flowers on one inflorescence when it was awarded! Cattleya aclandiae 'Krull-Smith' FCC/AOS is one of only two FCCs awarded to the species and is behind so many of our award winning spotted Cattleyas. We are expecting these seedlings to get the green background color, higher flower count, and flatter form from Cattleya granulosa and the more compact growing habit, deep spotting, broad lip, and the ability to flower a couple of times per year from Cattleya aclandiae. Plants are well-established in 3" pots.
