Cattleya walkeriana is always a favorite in many collections! This is a compact growing, brightly colored, and highly fragrant species from Brazil that can bloom throughout the year, but blooms primarily in the winter or early spring. Cattleya walkeriana does not bloom from the leaf axil like most Cattleya and will instead bloom directly from a growth stemming from the rhizome. Often times what may look like a new growth is actually a flower emerging! This is a selfing of C. walkeriana 'Dayane Wenzel' HCC/AOS which is a gorgeous plant that is also a suspected tetraploid which would mean that almost all of the progeny from a selfing would also be tetraploids. Plants are near flowering size in 3" pots.
