Brassavola nodosa ('Susan Fuchs' FCC/AOS x 'Joyce Weaver')

Brassavola nodosa, or the "Lady of the Night" orchid is a gorgeous species that is known for its intense fragrance that is only given off by the flowers at night! This species is native from the southern half of Mexico all the way through Central America and int Colombia and Venezuela. This is a very hardy species that can be found in a wide variety of conditions including in full sun or even growing as lithophytes (on rocks). They take a lot of abuse without so much as a second thought and will flower multiple times per year. Brassavola nodosa 'Susan Fuchs' FCC/AOS is famous for being the first FCC and the only one for almost forty years after it was awarded! It is also a known tetraploid - 'Joyce Weaver' is another gorgeous cultivar with a very large, round lip. Plants are flowering size in 3" pots.
